NexTek Adds Printing Services to All-in-One IT Solution

Memphis, TN – Memphis-based IT company, NexTek, has partnered with American Business Solutions to provide printers, printer maintenance and supplies for its cloud computing customers. The service is already a great success among test clients, such as Southern Eye Associates. Compared to their old setup, NexTek’s printers will save the practice over $2,316 in printing costs annually, or $9,264 over the four years of the lease. Compared to the cost of purchasing comparable new HP printers, the savings increase to $3,300 annually, or $13,200 over four years.

“Before NexTek, it felt like we were always running out of toner or calling for service,” said Lori Jennings of Southern Eye Associates. “It was very disruptive, took up a lot of administration time and the supplies and repairs were expensive. Now, we have good quality, reliable printers that are fully integrated into the rest of our system. As soon as the toner in a printer hits 10%, it generates an email to NexTek, and they send a replacement cartridge right on time. All we have to do is add the paper.”

The savings involved in NexTek’s printing solution are, like cloud computing, based on paying for the use of high quality, professionally-maintained equipment, rather than paying the up-front costs of purchasing and the ongoing costs of maintenance and eventual replacement. Small to mid-sized businesses can afford an enterprise-level user experience for one predictable monthly fee.

“When it comes to printers, you’re going to pay one way or another,” said Wayne Randall, president of NexTek. “Either you spend the money on a quality printer and pay less in parts and maintenance over time, or you buy a lower-end model with the knowledge that you’ll have to repair or replace it much more often. Through our partnership with ABS, we’ve taken on the initial equipment cost for good quality printers so our clients don’t have to. More importantly, it has a huge convenience factor which reduces administrative burden.”

This new printing service is an added benefit of NexTex’s core cloud computing program. Cloud computing replaces traditional IT infrastructures (company servers, in-house IT departments, etc.) with off-site virtual servers that are maintained, backed up, and upgraded by a hosting company. Put simply, it’s computing delivered on demand, much the way phone, cable, water, power and other utilities are provided. Because the costs of professionally maintaining a centralized data center are shared by many client companies, the usage-based cost to each is far lower than the expense of traditional IT solutions.

NexTek is a Memphis-area IT solutions provider that offers a full range of services, including computer and networking support, off-site data backup, managed firewall and security services, hosted SPAM filtering, Microsoft Exchange e-mail hosting, and virtual private servers. Clients include The Bankruptcy Group of Florida, Liszt and Associates, Zebra Marketing, Gould’s Day Spa and Salons, MacMannes Inc., PAW Marketing, Thunder Road Brandworks, and many more.
